Onion Dip

This is great with sourdough crackers or crinkle cut potato chips.

Ingredients

4 Brown Onions
1/4 Tsp Baking soda
1 Tbsp Salt
1 Tbsp Sugar
1/4 Cup Olive oil

Vinegar and Water for Deglazing
1.5 Cups Sour cream
3/4 Cup Mayo
1/4 Tsp Garlic powder
1 Tsp Dried onion
1/4 Tsp White pepper

Instructions

  1. Mandolin onions, mix with baking soda, salt and sugar – rest 10 minutes
  2. Cook onions in olive oil until reduced and caramalized – 30 mins or so – deglaze with vinegar and water
  3. Combine 1/2 cup of the onions with the remaining ingredients
