Caramelized Onion Dip

This is great with sourdough crackers.

Ingredients

4 Onions
1/4 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tbsp Salt
1 Tbsp Sugar
1/4 Cup Olive Oil

Vinegar and Water for Deglazing
2 Cups Sour Cream
1/4 Tsp Garlic Powder

Instructions

  1. Mandolin onions, mix with baking soda, salt and sugar – rest 10 minutes.
  2. Cook onions in olive oil until reduced and caramelized – 30 mins or so – deglaze with vinegar and water, let cool.
  3. Combine onions with remaining ingredients.
