This is for sure my favorite burger. This is why you make sourdough sweet potato buns. It’s so good you do not need any condiments at all.
Ingredients
1 Brown onion
80/20 Ground beef
Olive Oil
Instructions
- Mandolin the onion as thin as possible, toss with salt and rest for 30min
- Squish out as much of the moisture from the onion.
- Form balls with the ground beef, place between parchment paper and smash with something flat and heavy. You can, of course, smash after you put the meat in the pan.
- Place meat patty in hot pan with olive oil and cover liberally with onion
- Cook until brown, flip patty and onion so onion is on bottom
- Cook until onion starts to caramalize – place between bun
