An onion sauce thickened with bechamel sauce. Serve with meats, poultry and vegetables.
Ingredients
4 Tbsp Butter
1 Lb Onions, Chopped
1 Quart Bechamel Sauce
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until they are soft and translucent.
- Puree cooked onions briefly in a Cuisinart and then return them to the pot.
- Whisk the bechamel into the pureed onions and bring the sauce to a simmer.
