Sourdough Strata

A savory bread pudding that you can pretty much throw anything into. My favorite would be bacon and onions.

Ingredients

1 Tbsp butter

10 slices chopped bacon

1 Sliced Onion

3 Cups Cream

1/4 Cup Grated Parmesan

10 Eggs

Salt and Black Pepper

1 Sourdough Baguette, Cut Into 1 Inch Cubes

2 Cups Shredded Cheese (Swiss)

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon until crispy, remove from pan.
  2. Cook onion until caramelized.
  3. Whisk together cream, eggs, parmesan, salt and pepper.
  4. Butter a baking dish, layer half of the bread cubes, 1 1/2 cups cheese and bacon and onion
  5. Layer rest of the bread on top.
  6. Pour creme mixture over top
  7. Rest for 1 hour or overnight
  8. Sprinkle with remaining cheese
  9. Bake at 325F for 40 to 50 mins.
